Bette Arnold brings a wealth of professional and personal experience to Desert Heart Coaching. Her formal education includes an undergraduate degree in English; and master's degrees in Education and in counseling and art therapy. She recently graduated from the Institute for Life Coach Training and has fulfilled requirements for the Associate Certified Coach credential with the International Coaching Federation. In preparation for her successful business venture, Ms. Arnold also recently completed a business planning course with the Microbusiness Advancement Center in Tucson, Arizona. Ms. Arnold's work history includes 30 years of clinical and educational experience with adults and children. Her clinical experience includes three years as a therapist for a children's residential treatment center; two years as a therapist for adolescent and adult units in a psychiatric hospital; and eight years working in private practice as a licensed professional counselor in North Carolina. In addition to her coaching business, Ms. Arnold also gained practical business experience through owning and managing a health food store, and working in commercial real estate for seven years. She has taught high school English and drama; creative writing and composition. She worked as gallery coordinator for Santa Barbara City College, and as a briefing leader for the Hunger Project. When she's not busy with all of the above, she can be found in her painting studio. "Doing art heals my heart and regenerates my spirit."
